Brad Johnson

Cross Country and Track & Field have been central parts of Coach Brad’s life. He was a member of Martin Luther King Middle School’s first Cross Country team, and ran varsity Cross Country and Track & Field for four years at BHS. Collegiately he competed for the Stags of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and served as Team Captain. He began coaching Track & Field and Cross Country in the Spring of 2009. In Fall 2011 he became Head Coach of Cross Country and in Spring 2015 became the Head BHS Track & Field Coach.

Coach Brad is responsible for workout & training design, setting program goals, team administration, and coordinating the coaching staff. He holds a Level 2 certification from USA Track & Field in Jumps, and has participated in numerous Level 3 symposia on Endurance Training. Coach Brad’s continuing goal is to cultivate a team culture of excellence, integrity, and commitment. His personal motto is “leadership is service,” but is fond of reminding athletes that “pain is weakness leaving the body.”
