Summer Conditioning
We have summer conditioning for all events (Distance, Sprints, Throws, Jumps) at 5:00pm Monday through Friday at BHS. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we also have access to the BHS Weight Room in the evening. I strongly encourage everyone to come to conditioning.
For athletes planning to do Cross Country this Fall, conditioning over the summer is critical to having a successful season. I have attached the the Summer Plan that Cross Country runners can follow if they are away from Berkeley. Please forward this information to any families of incoming Freshmen interested in Cross Country or Track & Field.
Athletic Packets
For any athletes planning to participate in a Fall Sport such as Cross Country (but also other sports such as Football) the school requires athletes to have a completed athletic packet on file before the season starts. The Season start date for Cross Country is August 17th/ Once the Athletic Office re-opens I will email out the dates and times when the office will be open to accept packets.
The athletic packet is available here: http://bhs.berkeleyschools.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/2015-2016-Athletic-Packet1.pdf
I strongly recommend that Spring and Winter sport athletes also complete their packets over the summer as it is much more difficult to deal with this paperwork during the school year. Sports Teams including Cross Country and Track & Field, are not able to allow athletes to practice without completed paperwork.
Congrats Coach Betts!
As many of you know Coach Aria Betts just completed the USA Track & Field Level 2 Certification in Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays. I am super excited to see what all this new knowledge can do to enhance our Sprints, Hurdles, and Jumps training!
