Highlights

We will have our first Cross Country Parents Meeting on Wednesday at 6pm at the BHS Track.

Cross Country athletes should come to practice prepared. A key item many athletes are missing is a digital watch with a start stop feature.

Week in Review

This week we scrimmaged against Albany High School.  We had particularly good races from a number of returning upperclasswomen athletes in the junior/senior races including: Sebastian Anderson, Robel Kelkile, Karin Uzawa, and Nick Chan.  We also hd a strong 1 though 4 showing in the Freshmen and Sophomore girls race. Full race results are available here.

The Coaches were impressed by the attitudes of many athletes during the first week of school. We hope the team will continue this positiveness while improving both attendance and timeliness at practices.

The Week to Come

On Labor Day we will have practice at 9:00am. Athletes will meet at BHS.

We will have our first Cross Country Parents Meeting on Wednesday at 6pm at the BHS Track.

Saturday we will be racing at the Ed Sias Invitational at Hidden Valley Park.

Please make sure that you encourage your teammates to attend practice and to show up on time!

On the Horizon

Encourage any new athletes interested in sprinting, throwing, jumping or hurdling for the Track and Field team this Fall. To visit our informational page on joining the team.

Dates have been set for our 2016 Lake Tahoe Summer camp, so mark your calendars. We will be in South Lake Tahoe from Sunday July 31st through Sunday August 7th.

The first day of Track & Field will be Monday, February 8th. All athletes will need to have completed packets by that date. The majority of Cross Country runners will have an easy time of this as they have already complete their paperwork.

Coaches’ Projects

Priority Items for the Coaches this week include: finalizing our team roster and contact list, preparing for our parent meeting, and readying the team for our first invitational meet. We are also developing a form to update our website roster bios.

Following Ed Sias we will be establishing training groups and workout paces. These will be adjusted following competitions throughout the season, and will be posted here.

The Coaches are also working on a number of long term team apparel and equipment projects for the Spring Track & Field season.
