Cross Country and Track & Field have been central parts of Coach Brad’s life. He was a member of Martin Luther King Middle School’s first Cross Country team, and ran varsity Cross Country and Track & Field for four years at BHS. Collegiately he competed for the Stags of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, and served as Team Captain. He began coaching Track & Field and Cross Country in the Spring of 2009. In Fall 2011 he became Head Coach of Cross Country and in Spring 2015 became the Head BHS Track & Field Coach.
Coach Brad is responsible for workout & training design, setting program goals, team administration, and coordinating the coaching staff. He holds a Level 2 certification from USA Track & Field in Jumps, and has participated in numerous Level 3 symposia on Endurance Training. In 2022 Coach Brad was honed to be named Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year by the California Coaches Association. Coach Brad’s continuing goal is to cultivate a team culture of excellence, integrity, and commitment. His personal motto is “leadership is service,” but is fond of reminding athletes that “pain is weakness leaving the body.”
